In an exciting development for residents and visitors alike, East Linton is set to become an even more accessible and connected destination with the grand opening of East Linton Train Station on December 13th.

This eagerly anticipated addition to the local infrastructure promises not only improved transportation but also the potential to breathe new life into the community. Gilmerton House is thrilled, as a local business, to welcome this station which is only 4 miles away.

Network Rail has completed the construction of the station, a new £15m facility, which is undergoing final stages of testing and commissioning.

Sitting on the East Coast Main Line, the new station has two platforms, 114 car parking spaces, including blue badge priority parking, and 18 electric vehicle charging points. Commuters will be able to connect into Edinburgh Waverley, with direct access to the East Coast Main Line also available for services to Dunbar and Newcastle.

The East Linton Station represents a significant step forward in enhancing connectivity for the entire region. Strategically located to serve both residents and tourists, this new transportation hub is poised to become a vital link between East Linton and surrounding areas.

Commuters will benefit from improved access to Edinburgh and other nearby locations, fostering economic growth and facilitating easier travel for both work and leisure, meanwhile opening up and making the area more accessible to tourists.

At Gilmerton House, we recognize the positive impact the East Linton Station will have on the local community and local businesses. The new station is not just a transportation node; it is also a catalyst for community development.

Improved accessibility often leads to increased business opportunities, and we believe that local businesses will thrive as more people discover the charm of East Linton and the surrounding area.

Moreover, the station is expected to attract visitors keen on exploring the picturesque surroundings and experiencing the unique character of East Linton and East Lothian.

Gilmerton House, with its rich history, stunning grounds and accommodation, is poised to welcome guests from this station, making the area more accessible from both north and south.

As East Linton embraces its role as a central point of connectivity, we at Gilmerton House are excited about the opportunities for growth, collaboration, and the continued development of this charming town and businesses such as us in the surrounding vicinity.
